How many concerts are performed each year?
The chorus performs two formal concerts each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. There are also opportunities to sing informally for rallies, fundraisers, holidays, and special events.

How much are dues?
Dues are $280 per member per year and are payable by the end of September. A full year’s dues are required and one year’s participation is expected for each returning and new member. Payment plans can be arranged.

What is the attendance policy?
Members are expected to attend:
- Monday rehearsals (7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Wallingford District)
- Saturday rehearsals, usually from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., scheduled once or twice for each concert, and sectionals scheduled as needed
- Two or three evening rehearsals the week leading up to a concert

Does the chorus rehearse all year?
No. Rehearsals run September through November and January through May. There are no rehearsals in December or over the summer months.

Are choristers expected to purchase costumes for concerts?
Women have the option of making or purchasing a dress made by chorus members. Otherwise, formal concert attire is all black, and colorful scarves are provided.

What is expected of members?
Members are expected to attend all rehearsals. Members are encouraged to attend the annual retreat and annual meeting.
Members are expected to participate for the entire season.
The chorus depends on volunteers to produce concerts, organize fundraisers, plan travel, serve on the board, serve on various committees, and carry out myriad other tasks. Members are expected to volunteer to the extent that they are able.
The Mission Statement reads in part, “to build and sustain harmonious relationships and cultural bridges locally and globally.” To further this goal, and to “walk our talk,” members are expected to take advantage of opportunities to learn and practice peaceful communication skills.
Members are expected to follow the non-discrimination, sexual harassment, and governance policies outlined in the Member Handbook.

Members are given required materials on paper during rehearsals. However, the members-only pages of this website provide additional useful and fun information, including audio learning files and links, recordings of performances, historical photographs, a calendar of meetings, and a member directory.
