Stephen Ernst, “Betrayal and Hope”

Steve has been singing with the Peace Chorus since 2001 and has served on the Repertoire Committee for many years. At the end of his professional career, he was honored to be a part of the Human Genome Project as the lead of the Bioinformatics Group at the University of Washington’s Genome Center. Since his retirement, he has focused his activist efforts with the Peace and Justice Committee of the Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

Martha Baskin, “In a Dense Landscape, Can Trees and Housing Co-Exist?”

Freelance radio and print reporter. Cover a wide range of environmental issues including warming oceans, alternatives to fossil fuels, growing food in unlikely places, pollinators, and climate and environmental justice. Have been a contributor to Geekwire, Seattle Globalist, Truthout, the former Seattle Post-Globe, and Crosscut as well as several community radio stations. Martha’s food/farming, conservation and environment radio work began with a project for the King Conservation District under the name Green Acre Radio and was later supported by the Human Links Foundation and the Russell Family Foundation. She was one of the original founders of Free Speech Radio News, a progressive and global radio network in 2000.
