Seattle Peace Chorus 2019 Southwest Border “Music Crosses Borders” Tour
The Chorus traveled first to San Antonio during Dreamweek to perform with guest artists Dana Clark, Steve Feinstein, and Michael Deosdade on Thursday 24 January at Travis Park United Methodist Church and Friday 25 January at San Antonio Mennonite Church. Donations supported RAICES and the Mennonite Hospitality House, La Casa de Maria y Marta.After a three days in El Paso singing informally for refugees in collaboration with Columba Mission, we traveled to Tucson, were we performed with guest artist Pablo Peregrina at the Unitarian Church of Tucson, where donations supported church shelters.
Friday 1 February, we sang for refugees at a women’s shelter and at Casa del Migrantes en Tijuana.
Saturday 2 February, we performed with the Riverside Resistance Revival Chorus and guest artists Elizabeth Ruiz, Alejandro Campos Soriano, Rita and Jacob Daruvala, and Kent Stevenson at the Riverside Center for Spiritual Living. Donations supported Casa del Migrante.
